Races were held at Rydal, Bathurst, Clandulla, Hawkesbury Heights, Geurie and Lake Canobolas (Sunday’s location) and while Porter didn’t win any of those meetings, she only missed out on the podium twice.
With Patterson not competing at each race, it was enough for Porter to claim victory overall.
“I’m particularly happy as it was against Danielle,” she laughed.
“I’ve been gloating a bit considering how she beats me a lot.”
Recent rainfall helped dampen out the dusty track, ahead of the two day meeting on Saturday and Sunday.
“The trails were magic. It was dusty beforehand and there was not much grip,” Patterson said.
“The rain was fantastic to ride on. I was in my element, flowing and fast. At the top, it was like a roller coaster.
“I raced all six races, so it was good to get to know the local rivals.
“To have an event series in the Central West helps build the strength of all the local clubs.”
Over all categories, Western Sydney Mountain Bike Club won the series, ahead of Orange Mountain Bike Club.
Bathurst riders Jarrod Bell finished second in the men’s open category.
Daniel Watson took out the final podium place in third, after only competing in three of the six races.
