So far this month, 87.8 millimetres of rain has been recorded for the city by the Bureau of Meteorology, this is well above the month’s long-term average of 60.7mm.
But this follows seven consecutive months of below average rain.
The Western Advocate recently reported that the water level in the dam was at its lowest November level in eight years.
Despite this week’s rain, the dam’s level has dropped further to 85.2 per cent, compared to 85.5 per cent a week ago.
Last week, release of water from the dam averaged 26 megalitres (ML) daily, however it has now been dropped to 4.5ML.
Inflow into the dam has increased, however, from nothing last week to 1ML a day. There is more than 25,000 ML of storage.
Rain is predicted for the remainder of the week in Bathurst.
