Arriving early, I had the opportunity to walk and enjoy the view and the festival build-up.
I was surprised, saddened and angered to see clusters of cigarette butts and clipped cable ties, apparently discarded from previous camping activities.
They were widely distributed across the ground.
Wahluu is being transformed in many ways, and this anthropogenic layer of plastic and other non-biodegradables is yet another reminder of human folly.
If we are to genuinely show respect both for land and for future generations, then we need to think very carefully as to what we leave behind.
