December brings to BMEC end-of-year concerts from 5 Dance Studios, a concert from Eglinton Public School and presentation days for Bathurst Public School, Carenne Public School and The Scots School.
The final week will see the 2BS Citizen of the Year presentation, Homegrown Cabaret and the NT Live screening of Peter Pan.
The 2018 BMEC season has been launched and priority ticket sales are now available for members and friends.
The season will then go on sale to the general public on Monday, January 15.
In 2018, BMEC is proud to announce that it will introduce Monthly Band Nights, generally on a Friday night, starting with a concert of Smith and Jones originals on Friday, February 2.
The concerts will be held in City Hall in a relaxed format with simple food and bar.
The aim of the band nights is to provide a regular music venue where the focus is on the artists.
We will feature leading local and regional musicians, provide opportunities for LEAP (Local Emerging Artist Program) artists as support acts when appropriate and occasionally present artists from further afield.
The Monthly Band Night on Friday, October 19 will be a concert by western Sydney rap artist L-Fresh the Lion with his band, accompanied by the Mitchell Chamber Orchestra with the audience in a mosh-pit environment.
Ticket prices will vary depending on the artists but will generally be around the $20 mark.
Final details are being prepared for a launch of the project in mid-December.
Smith and Jones, as part of the Monthly Band Night, will be the first performance for BMEC for 2018 on Friday, February 2, followed by Sinatra At The Sands with Tom Burlinson on Sunday, February 11.
The first season performance will be Alice In Wonderland on March 6.
BMEC is very proud of the programs presented for our junior audiences and 2018 will bring Alice In Wonderland, Roald Dahl’s George’s Marvellous Medicine and Yo Diddle Diddle.
These performances are ideal for the whole family.
BMEC strives to provide a wide range of entertainment for the community of Bathurst and district and 2018 is shaping up to be packed with choices for all.
