Bathurst is one of only two Central West locations that the singer will perform during his tour schedule next year, and tickets to the April 7 show sold out in just 30 minutes.
Barnes was in Bathurst on November 30 to sign copies of his latest memoir Working Class Man at BooksPlus and it was there that he heard the complaints.
Hundreds of fans lined up outside the store to meet the singer, with some driving up to seven hours just to meet him.
Barnes said while he received a lot of praise about his books and music, people complained that they had missed out on securing tickets to his sold-out show at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre.
“A lot of people complained because the concert sold out so quick,” Barnes said.
Speaking exclusively to the Western Advocate after his book signing, he promised to speak to his agent to see if there was room in his schedule to add another show.

“I’ll have to go back now and talk to my agent and see if we can do on another one,” Barnes said.
However, in an email to the Western Advocate, his booking agent Frank Stivala said there will be no second show.
“At the moment, [we are] not sure we could add another show for Bathurst as schedule is very tight,” he said.
“We will take this on board if the situation changes and it’s doable.”
Mr Stivala directed Barnes fans to attend the upcoming show at the Parklands Resort in Mudgee on April 5, 2018.
Working Class Man: An Evening of Stories and Songs is the sequel to the acclaimed live show Barnes toured following the release of his first bestselling memoir, Working Class Boy, in 2016.
This new tour follows the release of part two of the memoir, titled Working Class Man.
