Bathurst opener Siede made his way to 52 in pursuit of Orange’s total of 184.

Siede and his teammates made their way to 6-126 before their 50 overs were used up.

The damage was done earlier in the day by Orange batsmen George Cumming (63) and Nick Murphy (45).

Bathurst had got themselves off to a dream start with the ball when Amy Kreuzberger clean bowled opener Hugh Corcoran for a duck.

However, Cumming and remaining opener Murphy dug in and started to pile on the runs, punishing the Bathurst side for missed chances in the field.

Cumming was eventually removed off the bowling of Alastair Crane-French who finished with Bathurst’s best figures of 4-19.

Bathurst came up one wicket shy of bowling out the Orange side within their 50 overs.

Opener Tim Currie (8) was trapped LBW early in the chase but Siede continued to chip away at the Orange total.

Siede’s innings was a satisfying one as he built on his encouraging starts of 33 and 14 in the Mitchell competition against Lithgow and Bathurst Green respectively.

Mitch Lamb (28) was the next best contributor with the bat for Bathurst.

Orange’s Jonothan Rasmussen, Harry Priest and Tom Madigan all picked up two wickets.

“We probably shouldn’t have been chasing as many runs. We dropped six catches and four of them really should have been taken,” Yellow co-coach Craig Windus said.

“We were just a bit slow with the bat as well. Tom Siede batted really well and he’d copped a knock on the knee when wicketkeeping earlier on. Mitch Lamb came out later in the innings and got stuck into them.

“Once the boys all switch on they can do a really good job.”

In the age group’s other match over the weekend Mudgee picked up their first win of the season with a dominant performance against Lithgow.

Lithgow were all out for 52 and Mudgee lost only one wicket in the chase.

Oscar Mahon led the way with 28 not out.
