Letter | Let the locals offer their logo options for Bathurst

THINK BIGGER: Should members of the community be able to add their creations to the logos already in the running for Bathurst's branding strategy?
THINK BIGGER: Should members of the community be able to add their creations to the logos already in the running for Bathurst's branding strategy?

I AM a ratepayer and proud to live in Bathurst.

I do not consider that any of the three logos submitted to date [as part of Bathurst’s new branding strategy] do the city any justice.

I back Councillor Ian North in regard to his suggestion that a local competition should be instigated.

I am sure many locals have some visions about what Bathurst means to them, and could mean for others contemplating a move to the country.

CONSIDER IT: Reader John Eccles' suggestion for a new logo for Bathurst.

CONSIDER IT: Reader John Eccles' suggestion for a new logo for Bathurst.

Unlock the talent in Bathurst – create a competition. The best is only good enough for this, the first and best inland city.

Let the residents loose on this instead of shackling us to only three options.

It is so important that more time should be allocated until the residents and council are absolutely satisfied.

The three examples already obtained should be included in a final selection and the winner chosen by a community vote.

What is there to lose? It will not cost much and the end result will be a community-inspired determination which will be lasting in its effect and meaning within the community.
