Bruce brings a unique and knowledgeable perspective to his show, having been the RCA Records representative from 1966 to 1970 responsible for convincing Sydney radio stations to play his company’s product.
During that time, he dealt with people now regarded as some of the iconic commercial radio programmers of that era, Ray Bean at 2UW and John Brennan at 2SM.
Bruce then moved to Festival Records in 1970 and Essex Music from 1978 to 1991, and was later involved with the establishment of the official Johnny O’Keefe website.
In short, he knows many of the Australian artists whose music he plays so when Bruce Powell discusses rock and pop rarities, he really knows what he’s talking about.
