Featuring well-known names across the community such as MC Rusty Nails, Smith and Jones, Michelle Griffin, Gabbi Bolt and the Cabaret Band, the show is set to be one for the times.
Local Stage Programs creative producer Kylie Shead said it is important to have shows such as Cabaret Kite to give locals the chance to showcase their talent.
“It is a great opportunity to see and appreciate local talent as well as celebrate the festive season,” Ms Shead said.
This is the 10th year Cabaret Kite has been running, with shows being held once every couple of years.
There will be approximately 20 performers and a variety of acts including music, comedy and circus.
All but one performer will be a local.
In order to mark the anniversary, those who perform on Saturday will have been regular performers throughout the whole 10 years the Cabaret Kite has been up and running.
Not only does Cabaret Kite give locals the opportunity to perform, it also allows for the performers to bring new projects and ideas to the stage.
“Cabaret Kite gives the performers the opportunity to work on new things and see how they go,” Ms Shead said.
The cabaret was created with the idea to perform five-minute pieces to show locals’ work.
The program has received more love and support since then, lengthening the time of the show.
Ms Shead said having locals perform is truly an amazing thing for the community as they get the chance to see what talent is within the region.
“I am thrilled to work with local artists to see the health of music develop in the Bathurst region,” she said.
Cabaret Kite is a popular event in Bathurst, however, there are still a few tickets available for those who wish to witness the spectacular performances.
The show will be held at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre this Saturday, December 16 starting at 7.30pm.
