The former Bathurst Cycling Club member will next season compete in Cycling Australia’s National Road Series as part of the Sydney Uni-Staminade outfit.
She is one of 10 riders named on the roster for the Sydney Uni team which “aims to create a sustainable race team that will advance female athlete development, and provide academic support to riders” and “provide elite experience and development opportunities”.
Watts will represent her new team at the national road titles, while she has the chance to follow in the footsteps of Bathurst duo Kirsten Howard and Hollee Simons and race in the prestigious women’s Tour Down Under.
Watts will compete against not only many Australia’s leading road cyclists, but some of the best professional women's teams in the world over the upcoming season as she makes her NRS debut.
