Ms Mutton claimed band sixes in Ancient History, Modern History, Advanced English, Legal Studies, History Extension and Studies of Religion I.
While she was unable to celebrate with her fellow students on Thursday morning, many other students revelled in their HSC success with an informal breakfast with teachers.
Marina Beattie, who has completed 11 units across two years, said it was good to see her hard work pay off.
“I scored two band sixes, three band fives and a band four,” she said.
“I was very nervous [before checking my mark]. I had a dream that I got 14 out of 100 in all of my subjects.”
She plans to spend the next year working in Bathurst before heading off to university.
“If my ATAR is good enough, I want to study a Bachelor of Arts at Sydney University,” she said.
Lucy Nolan performed extremely well in her Human Society and Its Environment (HSIE) subjects, scoring band sixes in Modern History, Ancient History and Studies of Religion II.
“I had to write a lot of essays. I really love it [history],” she said.
“I was so surprised with my marks. I wasn’t expecting it.”
Unlike fellow MacKillop student Ms Beattie, Ms Nolan has plans to enter tertiary education next year.
“I’ll be staying in Bathurst and attending Charles Sturt University,” she said.
“I’ll be doing a double degree in marketing and advising. That will take four years to complete.
“I really want to end up working in business and marketing. I’d like to work in a big firm, in Sydney, for someone like Samsung.”
Ms Nolan said the end of the HSC brings an end to a year of self-doubt and that she is “relieved” and “comfortable” with her results.
Erin Cobroft performed strongly in her Legal Studies and Biology exams, claiming band sixes in both subjects.
She received another four band five marks, a result she was happy with.
“I was a bit annoyed that I was one mark off a band six in Music 1,” she said.
Regardless of her marks, she already knew she would be study at Charles Sturt University in 2018 thanks to unconditional entry.
“It was really good to know and I wasn’t as stressed,” she said.
“I’d loved to work in youth justice centres, with troubled youth.”
Overall, 83 students completed their HSC at MacKillop College and 39 band sixes were awarded to students.
Students find out their Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) on Friday morning.
