Parade has seen lots of households make the effort to hang lights outside and break out plastic Santas and reindeers.
There are also a number of central business district buildings that have lights and other decorations out for the season.
A simple way to find amazing decorations to see is by looking at the Put Christmas in Your Street finalists.
The finalists were 10 Musgrove Avenue, 95 Morrisset Street, 22 Ridgeview Close, 1709 Mutton Falls Road, 8 Henderson Street and 77 Taylor Street.
Parade always admires people who go to the effort to decorate their homes inside and out, because she is a little bit hopeless.
A Christmas tree is all she can muster most years, but the efforts of everyone else in the community to spread festive cheer are always appreciated.
Looking greener every day
PARADE has noticed that the reflective pond at Bathurst Cemetery has been looking a lot better lately.
The appearance of the area had councillor Warren Aubin frustrated in recent months, and Parade has to admit, it hasn’t been the nicest of sights.
However, the earthworks and landscaping carried out have made a big difference to the overall area.
Instead of cracked dirt around the edge of the pond, green grass is growing in quickly.
Hopefully in a few more months the area will look perfect.
Flexible way to spend Sunday
PARADE has heard about a free community event this Sunday to help get your mind and body into gear for the festive season ahead.
Pop Up Christmas yoga is on from 10-11am in Machattie Park with the whole community invited to join in the fun.
Pranayoga Bathurst’s Jan Green said it’s all about “utilising diverse and interesting spaces to share the benefits of yoga with the community”.
All levels of experience are welcome, but people need to bring their own yoga mats.
