For year 6 Kelso Public School students Shaela Powyer and Ashley Morphett, they will take the exciting but nervous move up to secondary education at Kelso High School in 2018.
Both students are involved in the Student Representative Council.
“It’s sad to be leaving, leaving all the teachers,” Shaela said.
“[At high school] we get to start later, which means we’ll get more of a sleep in.”
One perk of high school the two girls are looking forward to is having classes in different rooms and being able to study different subjects.
The two girls, who are both 12-years-old, said their favourite teachers at Kelso Public School were Ms Holden and Ms Hobson.
Ashley said she would like to go to university or TAFE, after high school, and study cooking and Shaela is not quite sure what she would like to do after high school.
