This weekend the talented shot-blocker who played 135 internationals for the Hockeyroos will be in Bathurst to pass on some of her knowledge to local goalkeepers.
She will put them through a series of goalkeeper specific drills and laughed that they will “be puffing a little bit by the end of it.”
“I am passionate for everyone to have access to quality coaching, whether that be from me or someone else, I really just want everyone to have that access,” Cronk, who conceded just two goals at the 2010 London Olympics, said.
“You don’t need to be a specialist goalkeeper to pass on some knowledge, but goalkeepers do need a bit of special attention.”
While Cronk admits the timing of her clinic is not the best due to clashes with other hockey events, she is keen to put those who do pad up through their paces.
“There are three different camps on this weekend, so that takes out instantly another six goalkeepers at least, but that’s the way it is unfortunately,” she said.
“But the people who are registered are super, super keen and to me that’s probably more important than having 18 goalkeepers who aren’t keen.
“Hopefully people can see from this what Toni Cronk can do and they’ll ask me back,” she added with a laugh.
