The hugely-popular, family-friendly event was run by the Mitchell Conservatorium, with more than 100 singers and musicians featured in the program.
Some people arrived as early as 2pm to claim their preferred spot for the night’s entertainment.
Mitchell Conservatorium executive director Graham Sattler was in charge of the night’s entertainment which included students and featured solo artists from the broader community.
Motown band the Innocent Bystanders was new to the event’s line-up, while children’s and adult choirs led the community in song during the night.
Former Bathurst man, and now international opera singer, Chris Hillier returned to the city to sing crowd-favourite O Holy Night.
Due to last year’s record crowds of more than 5000 people, two large-screen televisions were set up in the park to allow more people to see the entertainment in the rotunda and on stage.
