Raine & Horne Bathurst teamed up with Lifeline Central West at the beginning of 2016 and the business pledged to donate $100 from every home they sold.
And, the results have been nothing short of impressive, Raine & Horne director Grant Maskill-Dowton says.
“We see what Lifeline does in the Bathurst community, in the call centre and with crisis help,” he said.
“From our point of view, it was something that needed help and local support.”
Mr Maskill-Dowton said Raine & Horne usually chooses a new charity to support each year, but decided to commit to Lifeline Central West for an additional year.
Lifeline Central West crisis support services manager Stephanie Robinson said the donations have had a significant impact on local services.
Funds have helped to train additional volunteer telephone crisis supporters who answer the national 13 11 14 number in call centres in Bathurst, Orange and Dubbo.
“For me it gives us breathing space,” Ms Robinson said.
She said through their work Raine & Horne staff often see the impacts of family and domestic violence, marriage break ups and sometimes suicide.
