While most residents were at home feasting, three families welcomed additions on the holiday, with the first baby arriving at 10.22am.
Erin and Stephen Goodman became parents to an adorable baby girl, who they named Remy Elizabeth.
Mrs Goodman said their daughter's arrival was earlier than expected, with her due date being December 27.
They had hoped Remy could wait until then, but the new mum said there was no stopping her.
"We were telling everyone to have fingers crossed that it wouldn't be a Christmas baby, only for the fact of having to share a your birthday with Christmas Day," Mrs Goodman said.
The couple arrived at the hospital at 1am on Monday, but went home again as it was too soon to deliver.
They were back at 8.45am and only had a little while to wait for Remy to make her grand entrance.
Despite the timing, the new parents agreed that their daughter was the best Christmas gift they could have received.
"I joked to people that this was our Christmas present this year, but I didn't think it would be literally," Mrs Goodman said.
