The song is from the duo’s debut album Dark Gives Way, and it was listed as number four in the Australian Country Radio’s top songs of the year.
The song came in behind Tania Kernaghan’s That’s a Tradie at number one, followed by Kasey Chambers’ Satellite and Jodie Crosby’s Hello.
In a post to their Facebook page Smith & Jones’ Abby Smith and Sophie Jones thanked “everyone who listens to our music, we love you guys”.
Songwriter Ms Smith said she was really proud their music.
“We’re so, so lucky to be in there [the top 10] with so many other artists,” she said.
“It’s been amazing, it wouldn’t be possible without the support we get from the Bathurst community.”
Baby Blue was number one on the Australian Country Radio charts in May 2017, as was their second single Small Town Woman in September.
“It’s been a good year, but strange. We’ve just been blown away with the support we’ve got,” Ms Smith said.
“It all just started snowballing so quickly with the launch [of Dark Gives Way] to kick it off and it’s been almost overwhelming.”
“It’s still really scary putting it out there. You never know what people will think, it’s really easy to get it wrong.”
