Guest educator Alice Blackwood will lead the workshop which will teach participants everything they need to know to grow their own shiitake mushrooms.
Shiitake mushrooms are a staple in many Asian cuisines and have become increasingly popular in Australian cooking in recent years.
Shiitakes grow in groups on the decaying wood of deciduous trees, and workshop participants will learn to replicate those conditions.
Participants will be using power tools to prepare logs for the mushrooms, so this Rahamim workshop is not suitable for under-16s.
The workshop is on Sunday, February 4 from 10am-1pm. Cost is $40 per person ($15 concession), including the cost of materials.
Bookings are essential and must be received by 5pm on Thursday, February 1.
