Piper Street homes targeted during long weekend break-in spree

BATHURST police are investigating a number of break-ins across the city over the New Year long weekend.

Homes in an area of Piper Street were heavily targeted but police said all residents needed to be vigilant.

Officers have asked residents to ensure their garage doors are locked and that all rear and side access areas have been secured.

“If you see or hear anything suspicious in your neighbourhood please call your local police,” a spokesperson said.

“Wherever you live, please make sure you secure your property and do not leave valuables in vehicles.”
