People shared their love beans, great brews and baristas they love.

All up, 36 cafes in and around Bathurst were nominated – some are new, some mobile, others were chain stores and some have featured in the city for years.

John Tug Wilson posted his nomination to the Western Advocate’s Facebook page.

“For me it’s Piccolo’s on William, while the menus and coffee are excellent, it is Maggie and her staff that is the icing,” he wrote.

The Grind at Bathurst RSL Club was also among the nominations, with Jodie James confirming it was her top pick.

“The Grind at RSL for price, easy ordering app and service. Great coffee card system and you can even use your members card for discount,” she wrote.

The Hen and Bow Espresso Bar in Trinity Heights was nominated quite a few times.

“Hen and Bow, especially the speed at which they can make it,” Alison Curtin wrote.

And, its seems some people, like Karen Evans, will follow their favourite barista if they move to another cafe.

“Ristretto us great. Have followed Arthur around for a while now. lovely staff and great coffee,” she posted.

Bathurst Hospital Cafe was also nominated as the best, and Andrew Fearnley described it as a: “Hidden gem with up and coming barista.”
