Letter | Thanks for making the appeal successful

THE Uniting-Target Christmas Appeal for 2017 has now been wound up. In its 27th year of operation, it has again been very successful, due in no small measure to the generosity of the Bathurst community.

During the Christmas season, more than 150 new toys were donated and distributed, and $4000 in goods and services added to the Christmas joy of some who otherwise might have done it tough this year.

The community’s support was appreciated. The enthusiastic work of management and staff at Target was fabulous.

Publicity given to the launch of the appeal by the Western Advocate made the community aware of this program. Distributions through some local charitable bodies and the Uniting Churches in Bathurst and Oberon were invaluable.

A big thank you to all concerned.

John Hoye, co-ordinator, Bathurst Uniting-Target Appeal
