The development application (DA) lodged with council shows the ‘hole in the wall’ coffee outlet would be constructed at 125 Russell Street.
A business, called Creative Cargo, opened at this site in September last year, and owner Ben Newman said the coffee outlet would be a great addition.
He said Creative Cargo offered the city’s business people or entrepreneurs the opportunity to hire a desk or meeting rooms on a daily basis in a boutique co-working environment.
The coffee outlet, which will be called Cargo Coffee, will serve up Italian blend Lavazza.
“There’s only one other coffee shop on Russell Street and I think it’s a matter of choice for people,” Mr Newman said.
If approved, Cargo Coffee will operate seven days a week from 7am until 3pm.
