He said "sure" and given he agreed to watch a chick flick in the first place, thought he could choose the DVD.
She went off to get the chips and dips to eat during the movie and returned to the lounge room ready to see what he had chosen to watch.
Needless to say, she was a little surprised when the "chick flick" he had selected turned out to be anything but.
She was expecting something along the lines of the Love Actually, Bridget Jones genre, only to see one of the Jason Bourne instalments on the screen.
While it wasn't a bad movie, it wasn't exactly what she was expecting … and left her wondering what DVD he would have chosen if she had actually asked for an action movie!
Cream of cricket talent
The cream of the state’s cricket talent is in Bathurst this week as the city hosts the Bradman Cup.
The matches will be played at multiple fields across Bathurst, with the local team, Western, competing at the All Saints’ College grounds on Tuesday.
So if you want to support the Western team, come down and show your support, or catch one of the other eight teams from across the state in action this week.
Too hot to travel west
ONE of Parade’s friends was enjoying her last week of holidays last week when she suggested to her husband they drive to Parkes to have lunch at their favourite Chinese restaurant.
He quickly replied: “No way, are you mad? Do you have any idea how hot it’s going to be there today?”
She looked up the weather forecast and he was right, with the Bureau predicting 43 degrees that day, so she put the idea on the backburner for a couple of days only to remember the Elvis Festival was on during her last few days off, meaning the day trip would well and truly have to be postponed.
So it looks like Chinese will have to wait, at least until the weather cools down.
But it will just make the meal taste all the sweeter by the time they get back there. The friend is counting down the days.
