NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) crews were called to two blazes on Saturday with hot, windy weather driving flames and smoke.
The first call out came just after 10am to a grass fire burning on a private property near Vittoria, off the Mitchell Highway.
The second call was received at 2.30pm to a blaze on private property at Black Springs.
Eglinton RFS Deputy Captain Nathan Inwood has urged the public to take care during the severe fire danger rating across the region on Sunday.
“I would urge people to be aware of the activities they undertake today, such as mowing or slashing that may inadvertently cause a fire,” he said.
“As always, it’s a good idea to check and update your Bushfire Survival Plan, in case a fire occurs near you.
“Making sure you and your family know exactly what to do in case of a fire, may just save your life.”
