Hot, windy weather means the region is currently in severe fire danger, with a top of 38 degrees predicted for Monday.
NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) Chifley/Lithgow team said the total fire ban will be in place for 24 hours from midnight on Sunday to midnight on Monday.
“In a total fire ban no fire may be lit in the open and all fire permits are suspended,” the Chifley RFS Facebook page announced.
“Under these conditions leaving early is the safest option for your survival.
“Well prepared homes that are actively defended can provide safety, but only stay if you are physically and mentally prepared to defend in these condition.”
Meanwhile, RFS firefighters attended a number of blazes across Bathurst on the weekend.
