Girl Guides, students, parents and community groups all took part in the local clean-up last year, doing their bit to keep Bathurst beautiful.
“Signing up for the 2018 Clean Up Australia Day is the ideal way for every Australian to take a positive position - lots of small actions like picking up local rubbish can help reduce the eight million tonnes of plastic entering oceans worldwide each year,” said chairman and founder of the event, Ian Kiernan.
Locations can be registered at www.cleanupaustraliaday.org.au.
Another way to get involved is to support participants by either sponsoring a clean-up site or making a donation via the Clean Up Australia Day website or Facebook page.
Money raised will be allocated to the purchase of materials that are provided free of charge to community, school and youth groups across the nation.
