Matters against Taylar Gregory Noonan, 24, were mentioned briefly in Bathurst Local Court on Monday before magistrate Michael Allen.
Noonan was charged on a string of offences, including cause wounding and grievous bodily harm with intent to murder, after the victim was allegedly assaulted in his Eglinton home in August.
Leigh Haywood, Noonan’s legal representative, said in recent months there was an issue concerning her client’s fitness, but late last year he was transferred to Long Bay Hospital, where he has received the treatment he needs and his health has improved significantly. Ms Haywood said her client was now on the proper medication and she was confident he was now fit to plead.
Mr Allen adjourned the matter until February 5, the next DPP day. Bail was not applied for and was formally refused.
