Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said the grant came from the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership (CBP) fund.
The club plans to use the money to install new work stations, equipped with power, water and additional grinding and polishing machines.
Mr Toole was pleased to give the club this much needed support.
“The Bathurst Stamp, Coin, Collectables and Lapidary Club have a very specific set of skills, arts and crafts that they want to share with the wider community,” he said.
“This funding will enable the club to purchase new equipment and workstations which will in turn enable the club to grow its membership base.”
Club treasurer Paul Martensz said the club hopes to encourage new membership so that skills can be handed down to younger generations.
“Our club has some wonderful crafts people who are ready and willing to share their skills with those interested in seeing what we do,” he said.
“This funding enables us to invite those people into the club with the funding to provide more work areas.”
Applications for the next round of CBP funding will open in mid-2018.
