Having made his debut in the annual event as a 14-year-old in 1999, Fearnley has relished the chance to test himself around the Sydney course.
Last year when he clocked a 19 minutes, 36 seconds effort – a record for the event – he notched up win number 11 and became the event’s most successful athlete.
The Carcoar native will start as favourite again on Friday, but CEO of Wheelchair Sports NSW Jim O’Brien, feels this year’s competition from both Australians like Jake Lappin and overseas competitors will be stiff.

The race will start at 9am.
