Zak first came to 2MCE in 2009 when he started studying a Bachelor of Communications (Sports Journalism) at Charles Sturt University.
The move to Bathurst was special for Zak because of his love for motor sports. His interest in the sport was encouraged by his parents and he raced go-carts as a hobby from 2001 to 2008.
From watching motor sports on television and attending go-cart racing events in Newcastle, Wollongong and Grafton, Zak developed an interest in motor sports commentating.
He started presenting the “Motorsports” program on Sunday nights and joined other CSU journalism students on the “Sports Central” program from 2009 to 2014, covering national and local sports.
Zak first reported from Mount Panorama for 2MCE in 2009 at the Bathurst 1000 and has covered the great race every year since. Last weekend Zak reported from the Bathurst 12 hour race with coverage for 2MCE local news and National Radio News.
Zak has also presented the Wednesday “Beat Café” program for the past nine years where he shifts gear from motorsports to playing contemporary popular music.
Zak is presenting his last show for 2MCE next Wednesday from 4pm-6pm. We wish him well for his future endeavours and will miss having him around.

Chris’ country call
CHRIS Tobin returned to the airwaves last Sunday after a short break and was delighted to receive a phone call from Sandi and her family who were travelling home to Melbourne after the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
The family stopped in Bathurst to break up their trip and tuned to 2MCE when Chris was presenting. They enjoyed the music so much that they stayed in Bathurst until the program finished.
Sandi and her family say they will now listen to Chris and the “County Music Club” each Sunday from 2pm through our live stream at www.2mce.org.
“The call from Sandi and hearing from all my regular listeners made my day,” Chris said.
We do like hearing from our listeners at 2MCE. You can phone directly into the studio on 6331 0092 to speak with the presenters.
