The love-filled day has inspired an initiative of the Student Representative Council (SRC) to sell Valentine’s Day items to students for their special someone.
Heart-shaped helium balloons, love lolly bags, roses and love poems were among the items available.
On Valentine’s Day, members of the SRC will deliver the purchases to students who had items bought for them.
Year 8 student Michaela Doungmanee has been among the SRC members taking bookings from students across all years.
“The love lolly bags are popular because a lot of people like food,” she said.
Michaela said the poems have also been well received by students.
“One of the Year 9 or Year 10 [students] will come into the class. We’ll play the ukulele as the person reads out the poem,” she said.
The SRC initiative is now in its third year and all funds raised will go to the school’s World Vision sponsor child.
