After falling to Western Australia inside three days when the competition resumed last week, the Blues were replaced at the top of the ladder by Queensland. It was their second consecutive loss.
Adding to the pain of defeat for Copeland, was getting struck on the arm while batting in the second innings at the WACA.
But come Friday Copeland will be back on his home deck at the SCG against a Redbacks outfit he enjoyed good success against earlier in the season.
In round one Copeland got NSW off to a flying start as he claimed 6-24 off a brilliant 13.3 overs, that effort one of the best from a Blues player at Adelaide Oval. His side went on to a six-wicket win.
Since then, the Redbacks have only won once and sit last on the ladder.
