“The day is about raising money for Legacy, but it is also about coming up and having some fun,” co-ordinator Peter Brien said.
The event is a four-person ambrose and is open to anyone who can play, with handicaps given where needed.
Mr Brien said the event would have a shotgun start, meaning everyone begins on the course at the same time.
“We’re got some raffles if they don’t want to play golf and would like to buy tickets [to show their support],” he said.
The main prize will be a trip for two to Port Stephens for a three-night stay at the Anchorage Resort, valued at $1200.
The cost of the day is $40, including time out on the course and a barbecue lunch at the club in the afternoon.
Registration, which is required, can be completed via the Bathurst Golf Club website for members, while non-members need to phone the pro shop on 6331 1379 to book their spot.
Legacy is an Australian charity that provides special services to families after the loss of a loved one who served in the Defence Forces.
Legacy currently provides support to around 90,000 widows and 1900 children and disabled dependants throughout the country.
The annual Legacy Golf Day is one of Bathurst Legacy’s biggest fundraisers and allows the organisation to continue providing care and assistance to more than 250 people in the region.
