During the operation, officers will target major motorways, main roads and local streets across NSW in order save lives on our roads.
Chifley Local Area Command Chief Inspector Glenn Cogdell said if you drink and drive or take drugs and drive, you will be caught.
“Drink and drug driving is not only killing those behind the wheel, it is killing innocent passengers and other road users,” NSW Police said.
“Police from throughout the Chifley Local Area Command will be randomly stopping drivers on all main roads, backstreets, and highways and testing them for drugs and alcohol at anytime of the day and night with additional police tasked to undertake these traffic duties.
“There are no excuses for drinking or taking drugs before you get behind the wheel. If you are caught, you will have to explain to a magistrate why you chose to drink and drive, and automatic licence suspensions can apply.”
The three day operation will conclude at 11.59pm on Sunday, February 18.
