Orientation Week activities will range from a bush dance to a goose chase for the 667 students starting their studies at the university in 2018.
“Orientation Week is a fun, happy and hectic time for all involved – new students, their parents and carers, and our staff – as there is much to learn as students consider their new lives in higher education and in a new environment,” head of campus Associate Professor Chika Anyanwu said.
“For our new students, it is vital that they meet our staff, and ask questions in order to find the resources that will make their studies at CSU a success, while also enjoying a rewarding and eventful life.
“Students can use a wide range of services and support to improve their chances of success. For example, we have free after hours and weekend tutors ready to help students in various areas.”
A welcome ceremony will be held at CSU at 10am on Monday, which will be followed by a market day and barbecue on the library lawn.
Events in the following days will include a country fair, bush dance, goose chase (missions around the campus involving taking photos and videos) and a dag night.
Throughout the week, students will also attend meetings with course co-ordinators and lecturers and have tours of the campus.
Academic classes for new and returning on-campus students will start on Monday, February 26.
