Mini mammoth
MINI Mammoth is on display at the Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum until July 22.
The exhibition is targeted at kids aged 4-12 and focuses on mammoths, how they lived and how they adapted to the ice age.
The highlight is an inflatable, mini mammoth.
BRAG exhibitions
THERE are currently two free exhibitions running until Monday, April 2 at the Bathurst Regional Art Gallery.
Derek Kreckler: Accident and Process features the work of one of Australia’s most rigorous post-minimal and post-conceptual artists.
This exhibition brings together photography, video, installation and sound works drawn from the artist’s early conceptual and performative practice of the 1970s through to his more recent focus on still and moving imagery in the 21st century.
And Harrie Fasher’s monumental sculpture The Last Charge captures the raw emotion of the last charge at the Battle of Beersheba on October 31, 1917.
Forged from rusted and twisted steel rods, Fasher’s horses channel the violence and determination that led to the victory at Beersheba.
Local musos
BATHURST Regional Council is holding another YJAM Event as part of Youth Week 2018.
YJAM is an exciting music project celebrating talented young musos in the Bathurst region.
These events are well attended and have been previously held at the Bathurst Winter Festival and on the lawns in the forecourt of the Bathurst Library & Art Gallery.
The 2018 event will be held on Monday, April 16 from noon-4pm (during school holidays).
Young musicians interested in performing on the day must complete an Expression of Interest form and return it by February 26.
