The development application (DA), recently approved by Bathurst Regional Council, was for a $235,000 alteration and additions to an existing industrial building at 10 Vale Road.
The facility will be run by the Jones Brothers Family Farm which has been involved in poultry farming for more than 50 years.
Construction of the project will be completed by Hines Constructions.
The Western Advocate understands that eggs will be transported to the site from the family’s farm for processing.
The DA shows the site’s two existing sheds will remain, with a loading dock to be constructed at the rear of the shed that fronts Vale Road.
Inside the larger shed (along Vale Road) will be an egg wash, egg grading area and cool room storage.
Aussie Farmers Direct’s listing for Jones Brothers Family Farm stated it was a 100 per cent Australian, family-owned and operated company.
“Our interest in farming is a passion that has been handed down to us. It’s a passion that we hope to inspire in our children and in generations of egg farmers to come,” the listing read.
“It’s this drive for perfection with our eggs that allows our family to feed yours with the best of the best – a perfectly produced product.
“That desire for getting things absolutely right can be seen in every facet of our farm: the chickens, staff, processes and infrastructure.”
Jones Brothers Family Farm was contacted for this story, however, did not provide a response.
