Cool living
THIS week’s Cool Climate Living program is hosted by Monica Morse and features information about upcoming events in Bathurst.
Monica interviews Andrew Fletcher about the unveiling of a bronze plaque to commemorate the Bathurst nurses who attended the Great War of 1914-1918.
Twenty-four local nurses volunteered for the war effort and returned to Australia highly awarded for their contribution.
The Bathurst District Historical Society will unveil the plaque that includes the names of each of these women at the War Memorial Carillon on Friday, March 9. Andrew shares some of the astonishing stories of these women with Monica during the program.
It’s almost autumn and I’m sure you’re looking forward to a change in the weather just as much as me.
Autumn is that special time of the year when Bathurst is alive with the reds, golds and yellows of the changing trees.
It’s also time for the Autumn Colours festival beginning in March and Monica will interview Dan Cove from the Bathurst Visitor Information Centre about this year’s festival program.
Rachael Young rounds out the list of Monica’s guests, and she’ll be talking about the Sustainable Living Expo at the Bathurst Showgrounds on Saturday.
The annual expo event coincides with a Bathurst Farmer’s Market weekend and is always a great day out for the community. This year will feature Sticks and Wombat from the reality television program, The Block.
Tune in for Cool Climate Living with Monica on 2MCE from 11am on Friday to plan your diary with these upcoming events.
