This annual event attracts thousands of people each year, and Parade is thinking that even more will come to the 2018 show since it is such a milestone.
Already, call outs have been made for entrants in the showgirl competition, with women aged 18 to 24 encouraged to apply.
Livestock competition entries are open along with a huge range of other categories.
The Advocate is already planning a host of ways to help the show celebrate its milestone birthday.
As part of our plans we’re looking for your historic photos from the Royal Bathurst Show from days gone by.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re showing a cow, a horse or had your cakes and jams entered in the pavilion – we want to see your photos.
For those who go just to enjoy the rides and the dagwood dogs – we’d love to see your photos as well.
Dig them out of the archives, scan them into your computer and send them our way so we can relive the showtime glory.
Email your photos to photos.westernadvocate@fairfaxmedia.com.au and don’t forget to include the names of who is pictured.
This year’s show will take place from April 13-15.
It’s time to enter the royal show
SPEAKING of the show, when was the last time you entered a competition?
With the milestone 150th Royal Bathurst Show coming up soon, Parade reckons that this might be the perfect opportunity to enter.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re into livestock, photography, growing pumpkins or the best fleece this side of the Blue Mountains.
Entries for the Royal Bathurst Show Young Rural Achievers Awards are also open for people aged 12-28.
What about those who don’t cook, sew or own a cow? Well, the ute muster is back, or what about getting creative and seeing what else takes your fancy.
The Royal Bathurst Show schedules have already been published and are available online at www.bathurstshow.com.au.
