Friends of Centennial Park (FoCP) member Chris Perrers has propagated stone pine trees from the seed of one of those in the park and the mini trees are now available for sale.
They will be selling at the Bathurst Community Climate Action Network stall at the farmers’ market at the Bathurst Showground.
The propagated trees, which will be selling for $5 each, will also be for sale at the Wholefood Co-op Mini Market the following Saturday morning, March 3.
The aim of the FoCP is to preserve, maintain and enhance the park, south of the CBD, as a green open space in perpetuity.
The group has been vocal in its concern for the park as Bathurst Regional Council considers its options for the green space.
The Bathurst Farmers’ Market will be held from 8am to noon on Saturday, February 24.
