IT seems like just yesterday that we kicked off 2018, but already autumn is in our sights.

Parade spent a couple of days away from Bathurst recently and upon her return noticed just how many leaves had started to change colour.
There were also a few trees that had lost almost all their leaves already.
Parade lists autumn as her least favourite season, but for those who like the yellow, brown and orange colours that come with autumn, they’ll be pleased soon enough.
High rating for stand-in star
PARADE has always been a fan of Queen, loving nearly every song the popular British band had come up with over nearly five decades.
Other fans would agree that the band could never been the same after Freddie Mercury’s devastating death in 1991.
Who would have thought after that tragedy that the band could ever tour again?
But half of the original group are doing just that, now with the help of American Idol alum Adam Lambert.
Parade had the opportunity to attend Queen and Lambert’s concert in Sydney last week and was amazed by how good the night was.
Lambert put on a show and sung the hits almost as well as Mercury himself, while original members Brian May and Roger Taylor were right in their element and no special effects were spared.
If Queen comes back to Australia in the future, Parade would urge people to go along.
It won’t be the same as having Mercury there, but it would be a close second.
Good way to get woken up
USUALLY Parade hates being woken up before her alarm goes off, but not in recent days.
Two days in a row, Parade was woken up during the early hours of the morning to the sounds of rain on the tin awning above her patio.
It has been a dry summer in Bathurst and the rain is desperately needed.
Parade is just thankful that her only concern was dry, yellow grass in the backyard instead of empty water tanks, crops and livestock.
