Brucedale Homestead, one of the oldest family-owned properties in Australia, has been welcoming people to their wonderful garden for a public concert and picnic for well over 30 years.
The Brucedale Twilight Concert on the lawns of the spectacular property is co-ordinated by Bathurst Arts Council as one of its major events of the year.
Performances are staged on the verandah of the historic Brucedale house and this year’s featured artists include Musique Classique conducted by Liz Sargeant, zcoustic duo Smith & Jones, Displeased With The Key by Michelle Griffin and The Rod Mason Quintet.
Tickets are available at the gate. BYO picnic supper, rug and chair. There will also be the Moubar Vintage Coffee Van and some light food and drinks available.
If it’s raining the event will have to be cancelled.
Gates open 4pm. Cost is adults $15; concession $10; children (8-16) $5; children under 8 free; family $40.

Ready, Freddie
FREDDIE Mercury impersonator, John Blunt, will bring his Killer Queen show to Bathurst Panthers this week. Blunt is acknowledged as the world’s most recognised Freddie Mercury tribute artist.
He is touring with his group Killer Queen to give audiences the closest experience they can get to seeing the real deal. Show starts 7.30pm Thursday.
Book launch
LOCAL journalist, documentary-maker and writer Tracey Sorensen launches her new novel The Lucky Galah this weekend.
This wonderful novel is set in a coastal town in Western Australia at the time of the moon landing in 1969. It’s a novel about Australia, fate and what it means to be human – all narrated by the insightful Lucky the Galah.

BATHURST Library and Books Plus invite you to an evening with Kelly Rimmer, author of Before I Let You Go – a powerful story of the bonds between family and the choices we make to protect the ones we love.
Rimmer has sold more than 600,000 digital copies of her four other novels which have been translated into more than 20 languages.
Before I Let You Go is set to be one of Australia’s biggest fiction books for 2018.
