Six people have been arrested following investigations into an alleged drug supply syndicate in the central west.
Officers from Chifley Police District established Strike Force Garnier in August 2017 to investigate the supply of illicit drugs in the Bathurst area.
Police will allege in court more than half a kilogram of methamphetamine and cash was seized over the course of the investigation.
Following inquiries, officers attended a business in Raglan about 9.15am on Thursday and arrested a 22-year-old man.
A short time later, a 20-year-old woman was also arrested at a gym in Bathurst and a 25-year-old man was arrested at a home in Bathurst.
About 11.30am, officers attended a club in Bathurst and arrested a 31-year-old man. Police will allege the man resisted arrest and assaulted police.
Officers then attended another home in Bathurst where they arrested a 24-year-old man. Police will allege a quantity of amphetamine was located in the man’s possession.
A 61-year-old man was arrested at another home in Bathurst that afternoon.
A number of search warrants were executed across four properties in West Bathurst and Bathurst.
During the searches, officers located drugs believed to be methylamphetamine (“ice”) and cash. All items have been secured for forensic analysis.
All six people were taken to Bathurst police station.
Two men, aged 22 and 61, were charged with supplying large commercial quantity of prohibited drug.
The 25-year-old man was charged with the ongoing supply of prohibited drug.
The 31-year-old man was charged with supplying prohibited drug, assaulting police and resisting arrest.
The four men were refused bail to appear at Bathurst Local Court today.
The 20-year-old woman was charged with participate in criminal group and was granted conditional bail to appear at Bathurst Local Court on Monday, April 9.
The 24-year-old man was released pending further inquiries.
Investigations are continuing and further arrests are expected.
Chifley Police District Commander, Detective Superintendent Paul McDonald, said the arrests were the culmination of several months of dedicated investigative work.
“Ice not only destroys lives in our cities, it destroys lives in country communities too. Far too many families in country towns are having to deal with the raw havoc this horrible drug wreaks,” Superintendent McDonald said.
“If you have any information about Ice supply in NSW; whether it is in a country town or major city please contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Information can be left confidentially.”
