“I’ve changed my mind!” Sue Storrier shouted as the hair clipper started buzzing on Wednesday morning.
But she wasn’t serious.
The RFBI Bathurst Masonic Retirement Village staff member had made a commitment to lose her hair for the World’s Greatest Shave and she fulfilled that commitment in front of a supportive crowd of colleagues, village residents and family.
“I just think everybody knows someone who has been affected by cancer,” she said of her decision to take part. “I have had family and friends affected by it.”
Ms Storrier, who anticipated she would have over $1500 raised from her shave by the end of Wednesday, thanked all those who had supported her through donations and a raffle.
Money raised goes to the Leukaemia Foundation.
