A FRIEND of Parade went through Hungry Jack’s drive-through on Monday evening only to find the fast food outlet was having some technical issues, including EFTPOS being down.

No biggie, the friend had cash on her and went to pay for the meal. But when it came to getting her change, she was told the store had run out of five cent pieces so she was short-changed five cents.
Obviously five cents won’t break the bank, but as a matter of principle she thought it was a bit rich.
One thing the customer couldn’t complain about was the burger, which was good, and probably worth the extra five cents.
Time to hit the treadmill again
THE days are getting shorter and the nights are getting cooler and for a certain friend of Parade’s that means just one thing – winter sports are just around the corner.
And the friend is certainly feeling the pressure.
After an indulgent break over the summer she got word that training starts next week and she is not looking forward to it.
The first few weeks back are certainly not going to be fun, but that’s the price you pay for being lazy.
The friend thinks its definitely time to drag out the treadmill so she doesn’t get left behind when the season starts in a couple of weeks.
Hospital’s hidden secret is a gem
A FRIEND of Parade spent some time in Bathurst Base Hospital recently visiting a relative and has to say the cafe there is amazing.
For starters they have some of the best fresh cakes in town, including raspberry and caramel slice.
Then they also have amazing daily specials, which were as good as any meal you’d find anywhere.
Jacket potatoes were on the menu one day during this visit and they were so good the friend ended up getting two.
The quality of the food was a nice surprise and made being at the hospital just that little more pleasant.
If parking wasn’t so tight at the hospital the friend would go up there and get takeaway for lunch.
