A five-round series that sees points not only awarded for good results, but participation rates and factors in club numbers, the Bathurst Wallabies have made a concerted effort to impress in 2017-18.
While no official point score has been released since round two – Bathurst at that stage holding a lead over Orange – it is believed one those two clubs will be crowned the champion.
The final round will be staged in Dubbo.
There will be a shorter enticer course on offer as well with the main inter-club race consisting of a 500 metres swim, a 18 kilometre cycle and a 4km run.
“It’s really interesting because each club has an individual course with strengths and weaknesses,” Dubbo Triathlon Club president Jason Dearmer said.
“Some run from a pool or a lake and I think the Dubbo one is quality and the good advantage is there’s the river and that makes it unique.”
