The Bathurst Cycling Classic is a weekend long cycling event.
It features the hill climb, criterium racing, family fun and the main event, the Blayney 2 Bathurst (B2B).
It is expected the 2018 event will host about 2500 riders and 2000 spectators.
The B2B is the main event of the weekend and sees cyclists ride from the main street of Blayney to Mount Panorama, on either a 70km or 110km route.
Both routes have fully closed roads for the duration of the race.
Most volunteers will be rostered as course marshals to help along the Blayney 2 Bathurst course on Sunday, April 22 to assist riders and motorists.
Other roles include event preparation, parking and line marshalling, first aid and manning food and drink stations.
Mayor Graeme Hanger said very week, local volunteers and community groups worked to make our region great and he urged people to put up their hands again.
“The Bathurst Cycling Classic is a chance for us to showcase our community spirit to thousands of riders and spectators at an event that is gaining nationwide recognition,” he said.
“Volunteers play a crucial role in the Bathurst Cycling Classic, coming together with organisers and participants to create an unforgettable event that benefits the local community and economy while introducing new visitors to our region.”
An information session will be held on Thursday, March 22 at 5.30pm at the civic centre, 158 Russell Street.
