Jeffrey John Davies, 37, of Limekilns Road, appeared before magistrate Michael Allen in Bathurst Local Court on a string of charges, including driving while disqualified, being involved in a police pursuit and entering enclosed lands.
Police facts tendered to the court told how police were driving along Stewart Street when they saw the accused in a Toyota Prado.
Police watched the accused as he turned left into the BP service station in Stewart Street.
Police turned their vehicle around and saw the Prado parked alongside a petrol bowser.
They waited a short distance away for the accused, but he did not return to the car. After several minutes, police went in search of the accused, who had hidden around the corner.
Police approached the accused, who they say was co-operative and made admissions to police he was driving while disqualified.
Police said the accused was visibly upset and appeared remorseful for his actions.
Mr Allen convicted Davies, disqualifying him for 12 months and sentencing him to nine months in jail to date from January 2, 2018 until October 23, 2018 (concurrent).
Mr Allen also sentenced Davies on a police pursuit (not stopping and driving at speed) and entering enclosed lands, which occurred on January 24, 2018.
Davies was disqualified for two years and jailed for 12 months, with a non-parole period of nine months dating from January 24, 2018 (concurrent).
Entering enclosed lands was dealt with by way of a Section 10A conviction.
Mr Allen also convicted Davies on another charge of driving a motor vehicle while disqualified. He was disqualified for 12 months and jailed for 12 months with a non-parole period of nine months from January 24, 2018.
On that occasion, police saw Davies driving along Boyd Street. Police say they tried to stop the vehicle, but it continued and a pursuit was initiated.
Police say the vehicle continued along Havannah Street at a speed of no less than 100km in a 60km/hr zone, before the accused was seen exiting the car in Currawong Street and running into a backyard, before being found hiding in a rear room.
Davies made full admissions to being the driver at the time of the pursuit, and also made admissions to hiding in the room.
