To be held on Sunday, March 25 the community habitat day is open to everyone and a number of guest speakers will share their expertise during presentations.
Huw Evans will be sharing his knowledge about the regent honey eater.
“This is a critically-endangered woodland bird that has suffered a significant decline in numbers over recent years,” he said.
Mr Evans will discuss reasons for the species’ decline and ways people can get involved to help.
Tiffany Mason will speak about resources, landscapes and things the community can do to assist woodland birds in backyards.
While, ecologist Ray Mjadwesch will discuss marsupials and macropods.
The free event is on at the Glanmire/Walang fire shed on Walang Drive at Napoleon Drive. RSVPs are essential at gerarda.1@bigpond.com and a barbecue lunch is included.
